Cowal Fiddle Workshop
About Us
Set up in 1988 to promote the playing of Scottish traditional music.
The Dunoon-based workshop provides opportunities to play the fiddle or learn to play the fiddle to people of all ages and abilities.
The workshop also welcomes musicians who play other instruments, particularly for their annual fund-raising concerts and charity concerts.
If you live in Cowal and you're looking for a group to play the fiddle with, then look no further! Contact us!
What we do
We get together to play the fiddle!
Adult Workshops
Workshop adult members meet every Saturday, from September till June in a group session from 10.00 to 13.00 in Room 1 or main hall at the Queens Hall
We meet to play Scottish music and every level is more than welcome!
Instrument Hire
We provide violin and cello rental services, for a small annual fee for violin (all sizes) or cello hire.
Our goal is to get together and learn while having fun but, most of all, give our community an accessible and affordable way to play music!
Junior Section
We offer a fun and friendly environment where kids from 7 years old can learn to play the fiddle. Emily will help your child familiarize themself with the fiddle and will help them develop their musical skills Whether your child is a complete beginner or an experienced player, they're more than welcome to our workshops! Join us and watch your child's love for music soar! Children meet every second Saturday morning. Junior Sessions restart in September. Date to be confirmed.
